Step 1: Calculate Your Space

Minimum footprint: 3m (length) × 1.5m (width) for a manual/semi‑auto line. Desktop machines can fit on a 2m workbench.

Step 2: Select Equipment (Low‑Volume Focus)

1. Manual or semi‑auto stencil printer – Choose one with alignment guides or basic vision.

2. Desktop pick and place machine – Look for vision system, 20‑40 feeder slots, 0.05mm accuracy.

3. Benchtop reflow oven – Programmable profiles, 4‑6 zones.

4. Inspection – Stereo microscope or inexpensive AOI system.

5. Accessories – Air compressor (quiet type), stencil cleaner, nozzle kit.

Step 3: Arrange Workflow

Place machines left to right:
Printer → (optional SPI) → Pick & place → Reflow → Inspection.
Allow space for manual board handling between steps.

Step 4: Train and Test

Run a trial board with known good stencil and profile. Measure defects and adjust.
